We are Seeking a Environmental Health and Safety Specialist responsible for developing , implementing and maintaining environmental, health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory federal and local laws. This role involves supervising employees, conduction a variety of health and safety monitoring, audits, trainings performing risk assessments plans and fostering a culture of a safe workplace. Compliance with company Standards Operating procedures.
Implement EHS programs related to air emissions, water, waste, and hazardous materials.

- Manage environmental programs like Storm Water Pollution Prevention and SPCC.
- Oversee waste management (RCRA, biohazard, non-hazardous).
- Maintain recycling plans and reports.
- Submit environmental reports and maintain records.
- Track site EHS metrics.
- Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses.
- Monitor internal changes for environmental impact.
- Analyze Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for PPE and procedures.
- Lead Safety Steering Committee and support hazard correction.
- Conduct EHS training.
- Perform safety inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
- Investigate incidents and recommend preventive measures.
- Lead Emergency Response Team and coordinate training.
- Manage emergency plans for hurricanes and earthquakes.
- Handle fire department inspections and permits.
- Assess new products and expansions.
- Represent Company during regulatory inspections.
- Prepare permit renewals and negotiate conditions.
- Stay updated on environmental legislation.
- Supervise Environmental Services Support Technicians.
- Conduct team meetings. Perform other assigned duties.
Other Functions:
- Support community outreach initiatives
- Support the efforts of to obtain /sustain site certifications.
- Represents the company and participates in industrial associations and professional organizations
- Support all initiatives of the industrial, emergency response organizations, committees’ activities such as LECP (Local Emergency Committee Program)
- Use RFT tools for root cause analysis.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene or Biology
- 3 to 5 years of experience in OSHA regulations and programs within Pharmaceutical or regulated environment
- Experience in pollution prevention practices , recycling and change control procedure knowledge of GMP and EPA/EQB, PRASA, DOH, regulations and code.
- RCRA training requirements: 40 hrs initial and 8 hrs. annual refresh
- Knowledge of environmental, health and safety laws and practices
- Excellent communication skills, Bilingual English and Spanish
- Waste Water Treatment License Category IV
- In deph understanding/knowledge :
- GMP, EHS , environmental control technologies (air, water, wastewater, hazardous waste regulations) health and safety regulatory compliance (OSHA)
- Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office, Business Application)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Must possess , Flexibility to response to constantly changing condition and priorities.
