Job Summary:

The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for creating and developing electrical designs for construction projects, ensuring they comply with applicable codes and regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience designing electrical systems for commercial, residential, and industrial buildings, and will be able to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems for construction projects, including power distribution, lighting, alarm, and control systems.
  • Develop electrical plans and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Perform electrical load calculations and equipment sizing.
  • Select appropriate electrical equipment and materials for each project.
  • Coordinate with other construction professionals to ensure proper integration of electrical systems into the overall building design.
  • Review and approve electrical plans and specifications from contractors.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify the correct installation of electrical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in electrical design.
  • Collaborate with other engineers in the department to improve design processes and standardize documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • PE or EIT License preferred
  • Proven experience in designing electrical systems for buildings.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and regulations (NEC, IEC, etc.).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
  • Ability to perform electrical load calculations and equipment sizing.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving skills.
