We are seeking an Electrical & Power Systems Specialist with experience in  engineering, design, operation and maintenance of industrial central utility systems and power plants, preferably within GMP-regulated facilities. This role focuses ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety codes, and GMP requirements. 

  • Supervises, coordinates, and monitors utility plant activities; maintains equipment and performs related duties to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of utilities.
  • Provides guidance and technical support to the team.
  • Responsible and accountable for job plans used for maintenance execution of central and electrical systems in a manufacturing plant.
  • Provides leadership and direction for efficient operations and maintenance of all facility electrical and life safety systems. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, employee development, customer satisfaction, staff productivity, and efficiency.
  • Evaluates, in conjunction with Reliability Engineer and System Owners, the existing preventive maintenance scheduling intervals and works to maintain the electrical system in alignment with the NEC, NFPA 70, and NFPA 70E for applicable electrical safety.
  • Ensures all policies, procedures, work processes, safety guidelines, and programs comply with Applicable Law, Company Policies, and other pertinent codes and requirements.
  • Maintains staffing schedules, timekeeping, and employment records for responsible areas in connection with planning, scheduling, and execution of engineering/maintenance work. Assists in preparing maintenance schedules.
  • Furnishes mechanics with basic data required for overall and long-range planning.
  • Performs quality inspections on completed jobs; ensures conformance with policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for efficient planning and scheduling of work including, but not limited to, corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, and project support. Utilizes the CMMS to generate, document, or approve work per written procedures.
  • Coordinates with external power company for power quality improvement.
  • Determines critical parts and working stock inventory requirements.
  • Develops solutions to technical problems and drives solution implementation.
  • Reviews power company's switching procedures and oversee high voltage switching.
  • Ensures all software and drawings are up to date.
  • Analyzes operational data and reconfigures operating units as necessary to provide adequate, reliable service.
  • Plans, schedules, and monitors all work performed by contractors and physical plant employees within area of responsibility.
  • Investigates and/or supports abnormal operating events or equipment failures to determine cause and establish corrective and preventive actions; adjusts, repairs, and/or modifies as needed.
  • Assists with system shutdowns for system upgrades/repairs and/or when connecting new equipment or tools to Low Voltage/Medium Voltage/High Voltage systems.
  • Monitors electrical use on site.
  • Supports internal/external audits.
  • Generates electrical reports as requested by client and/or any regulation. Inspects assigned systems for documentation and operating parameters.
  • Ensures proper documentation of operations activities in logs and/or incident reports.
  • Establishes performance metrics for assigned systems & equipment.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering  a must.

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in power transmission, distribution, and substation systems.

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other GMP-regulated facilities

  • Regular/predictable attendance and timeliness to support the needs of the team and the client
  • Ability to work independently and as a team and serve as a role model for supporting team members
  • Client service-oriented attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Good writing & communication skills.
  • Ability to read HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and architectural blueprints.
  • Ability to use Windows based computers.
  • Basic knowledge in MAXIMO

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to work in office, field, and GMP-regulated industrial environments.
